The name of Martin Jay isn’t readily known outside the music business. But within the business, Martin is a very highly respected musician and singer

For many years, Martin has been one of the UK’s top session vocalists. His voice has been heard on many well known TV, Radio and Cinema commercials such as “Weetabix”, “Microchips”, “Diet Coca Cola”, “Southern Comfort”, and “Smiths Crisps” to name only a few

Martin has also been involved with many top recording artists, singing on hit singles with “Take That”, “Jason Donovan”, “Sonia”, “Michael Ball”, “David Essex”, “Twiggy”, “Bombalerina”, “Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel”, “PJ Proby”, “Dennis Waterman”, “Mike Batt”, “Buggles”, “Sacha Distell”, and “Tight Fit”

In the late 70’s, Martin formed “5000 Volts”, who’s hit singles “I’m on Fire”,
“Dr Kiss Kiss”, “Motion Man” and “Bye Love” sold well over 4 million records
world-wide

This Silver Disc was Presented to Martin Jay for the sale of 250,000 records of “I’m on fire” by 5000 Volts in the U.K. The single reached number (3) in the U.K. Charts and was number (1) in 13 different country’s all over the world
